Lucky,
Are you fishing out of a aluminum tracker, lund style of boat? I saw a couple of guys that had rod holders drifting shad and when the surface started to boil they reeled up quick and headed for the surface action.

Zeepo,
Yes sir, that was probably us. I have a 16' grey, aluminum Lowe FM165 with 75hp black merc outboard. If you are downwind, you will probably smell it first, given all the shad and fish slime on board right now!! Come by and say "Hi" next time you see me out there!
Hey, I got to play todayJumping Jacks Icon After reading the updates here and getting the local word I went out with a sun-tan in mind. Guess what, I got one too, along with some dinner :HandsClapping Bite was fast and furious, for dinks, but I did manage enough for the crew tomorrow night. Rootbeer wasshoppahs with y/c 8th head. Tried some things but that was the ticket. Caught a lot of 6"-8" fish and 1 whitey(nice one). Actually it was just good to blow the webs and dust off my stuff. :ThumbsUp
I've never fished Marion.....glad you found some specks at Kanop. I have yet to get over there since it's come back up.
Well, I did the other side of the coin this morning. It was kinda like quail hunting over at Ottawa, a group here and there. I did actually do much better for numbers of keepers and size, probably doubled. #803 was the ticket for them slabs, panfish assassins were OK. but #803 scored some weight. I sure miss the lillies over there, now it feels like I'm fishing Tuttle Crk or CG. Had an offer on my boat too, think I'm gonna sell it, been eyeing another one anyways. Stay safe this weekend, enjoy and come back and tell us about it. :ThumbsUp
I heard these are the best for putting fish in the boat
