    Default Pamona 8/20

Frustrating day. Started out at Green Acres to get minnows. Last couple of times there the count was less than what it has been thru the years. ordered two dozen got about 30. Used to order two and get four, not anymore I guess. O well life goes on.

Hit the water about 0730 fished brush piles first, not much, went out and scan some channel breaks marked some fish but no taker. Went to trees less than not much. Hit a few more piles dinks and not many of them. Talked to a couple of boats fishing for channels they say they have been catching limits every day. Maybe I will become a channel cat fisher.

Better luck next time I guess.

got some minnows to prefish saturday at tuttle creek.. ordered 2 dozen maybe got 20. 30+ is better then most places around wichita for a count of 2 dozen. AMAZING how spoiled we get and really miss it when its not there. Only wish we could do that good around here ever.

Thanks for the report BD. I have been wondering about those trees.I am going to fish some strip pits down south this weekend instead of dippin trees.

Sounds like you got a fair count you ordered 24 and got 30 according to your calculations of minnows costing .25 a piece you're $1.50 ahead.

Sorry to hear about your frustrating day. I have not had much luck at Pomona lately either other than the occasional Wiper.

I do agree with you on the Green Acres minnow count! I used to stop there all the time but the past few months they have been giving low minnow counts and the minnows usually die within a few hours.
I do have to say that for lively minnows and good counts, the marina at Melvern is the best I have found! The minnows are extremely lively and will last several days in a minnow bucket if properly taken care of.

Nobody is spoiled, we just prefer to get the best deal we can get. No different than any other time we are shopping. If I can order a dozen wings at a particular restaurant and receive 18 as opposed to the 12 ordered, I will always favor that establishment. Same thing with minnows!

Green acres used to be one of the best counts around and the best minnows. Lately they have gone down hill. Who doesn't want the most bang for their buck?
