    Default Clinton 7/30

Took a friend to Clinton to dip some trees in the Wakie arm....fished sunup to 3pm using minners(6 doz. from the Miller Mart) and a 1/32 jighead, best depth was 7-10 fow. Today the fish wanted the jig held completely still and then they wacked the tar out of it. In the morning we fished 5 ft. down and mid morning went down to 9 -10 feet. We kept 25 with only two being the 10 inch size and the rest 11-14 inchers. Don't think I'll be fishing "dinksdale" anytime soon with the quality of fish at Clinton........now I'm primed for some REALLY BIG slabs at Glen Elder.....better get out the big tackle....and some tall boots

Wouldn't blame you a bit Slabby Joe, that Clintons a gold mine. I feel like a dog when I'm there, which way do I go.

Thanks for the report. I have never fished that lake but I may have to give it a shot one of these days. Its about the same distance from me as Melvern is.

good job Joe! Why is it I never see you guys when you are there? Maybe I just can't see beyond my rod tip???? But the kid and I were gone by 10am don't to much care for the heat. Oh yeah, we've been using slabs from Rocky Top.

Why could it be? fD? C'mon fD spill the beans. Just glad to see you on the board. I like to spoon them too!!! Seems to be a pretty good bite in the heat of the day-if you'll stay. Seems like 2-3pm yesterday had the bigger ones more willing and they were 5'-8' deeper than sunrise depths.

There was only one trailer in the parking lot when we got there and I saw a boat south of the ramp fishing alot further out than where we were fishing.....was that you?? I noticed that boat left mid morning and we had it all to ourselves. I have a white Basscat with blue stripes, I hope I run into you one of these days, I know you could teach me a thing or two....good luck!
