    Default Melvern Sunday

Even with the foercast we had to try. Got on the water about 6:30. Tried jigs for a while but the guys in back were definately doing better on minnows, both size and quantity. Had quite a few hits on jigs, but few hook-ups. Finally gave up and went to minnows too. We could find some brush with fish pretty easy, but lot's of short fish. As the morning went on we found that some brushpiles held good fish, but most did not. when you find the larger fish, work it harder, mark it and come back later. I think you could finish with a pretty good mess if you keep looking for the the better locations, just don't waste too much time on the spots that are all dinks. We ended up keeping about 20, and it wasn't near as hot as the forecast. Still a great day, good friends and a day on the lake, what could be better?

Sounds like a good day to me, a reward of 20 for the frying pan and a day outside.

I just received a report the tic tic tug on minnows in brush was happening at melvern. I think I am loosing my mojo or something because the forecasted temps are still keeping me off the water.

Yes it is going on. They are hitting very lightly though. We didnt try any standing timber. Might try that this weekend.
