    Default Playday

Boy howdy was yesterday glorious, talk about a beautiful day. I enjoyed my homelake for an afternoon of fishing. I pulled up to the ramp and choked, only a handful of vehicles in the lot and the lake was open. Mind you, it's been an armada only matched by the Gulf War. All parking at the ramps has been "crowded" in short. Free reign, man I love it, it's all my domain, yippee. So, I went to the pile to see what I could do. The saugys use them just like the crappie and we caught both. No, no, not big numbers and worked for every single one of them, but that's the way I like it. We caught some exceptional crappies on swimbaits fishing them eyes, actually working the cover for crappie yielded only a few. We did get into some kitty's too, nice ones. I took home a handful of fish for dinner, a couple eyes and 4 crappie, just enough. I hate pushing that blade anymore and only enough for my family since I can do her again as needed. Fresh, never frozen. So, get the fluke out there and go fluke you some fish up. Thumbs Up

Sounds like a great day on the lake! I love a mixed bag day, especially with saugeyes and crappie!

A year or two ago I think you posted about your swimbait saugeye technique. I would love to see that in action sometime! Thumbs Up

Most any time, I'd enjoy it. Done it at Tuttle quite a bit before, some on the lake but below has been good.
