Hillsdale 05/13/12

I wish I would have made the Kansas Camp...just had too much going on. After a crappie fry for my mom and wife for mothers day...I took the kids to Hillsdale for a couple hours this evening and gave my wife some peace and quiet.

Caught 33 fish in 2 hours so it was a lot of fun for the kids. Most fish were in the 8" range with a few over 10"....but they didn't care...so I didn't bother moving. We stayed in one general area and I just let them catch away.

Caught all fish at 13' deep in 20-22 feet of water off either trees or brush piles. Picked up a few scattered fish when running the trolling motor from one tree to another. All fish came on minnows. By the way...maybe just a bad batch...but I got my minnows from one of the two bait shops/gas stations down there. They were bad. Had minnows dying in the bucket (only there 2 hours) and not much life in the water. Not sure if any of you have had that issue this year.
