    Default Clinton

Made it out to Clinton on Saturday morning got on the water around 8 and fished until around noon. Started around the trees on the North side and worked around caught 15 or 20 mostly dinks had 3 that were in the 11 to 12" range but was a C&R day. caught more whites than anything else, lake was as low as I have seen it for a while. All caught in 8 to 12' water mixture of jig and minnow the bite was real slow but when they hit they thumped it.

Yeah it's as low as I've seen it in awhile, probably keep me from racing the boat around in certain areas where I used to let her run. Sounds like ya had fun!

Clinton is very low this year. The Corps says it is only down 2 1/2 feet below normal pool, but most slipholders say it is down 4 1/2 feet.
I called the Corps office and they told me we are just used to last years levels when they held it at 4' higher than normal and with the lack of rain plus providing Lawrence with water it is lower this year so they have let it get down lower.
Lets pray for some heavy rains so my nightmare of going out to the lake to find my pontoon and the marina sitting on the mud lake bottom does not come true.
Thanks for the report KCSLABS. Where you fishing the standing timber just east of the beach or submerged timber just west of the marina point and wind dam?

Hit both areas also on the South side across from the beach and camp ground. Fishing was slow but we had a good time anyway.

Last I was there, we fished cut creek banks next to shoreline, found them piled on the wind-side slopes and laydowns. We've been fishing portables and going upstream.

HA, so you couldn't have seen me out there since I stayed on the lake! You would have had to put in on the river, because I don't think even a portable would float up the creek from the lake right now! You are one leg pullin son of a gun!

Went over the Wakie bridge today. Looked east towards the lake, saw nothing but silt/dry ground, no channel @ all. I was going 50 mph. Were my eyes decieving me?
