El Dorado 6/29

Well my son and I made it out around 10 am (to late) fished till 12 noon.Went to bait shop to get minnows and were bummed out it was closed. Oh well so we had to use jigs fished 2 different brushpiles 17 to 20 fow only caught 8 on red white tubes on a silver 1/8 oz. jighead.only had 3 keepers one 12 and two 11 inchers.

It was the 1st time out crappie fishing in a while boat was down bad impeller we changed that out ,also had to replace 2 batteries for trolling motor.Camphosting has also been keeping me busy but has slowed way down since this heatwave set in.

Sure wish we had minnows the fish were there they just were not crazy about the jigs had to try several different colors before the red and white.

We plan on getting some minnows and hit those 2 brushpiles earlier in the morning sure hope they are still there if not will head to sailboat cove and try a brushpile we found a while back in 20 fow.

Still need to learn the lake better and find and mark more brushpiles so we don't waste so much time looking for them.It makes fishing tough

Glad to see you and your son got to do a little fishing, all work and no play just ain't right...you'll probably have better luck with the minners..good luck!
