What I look for is stable conditionsThumbs Up & thermoclines set. No changesDohDoh of inflow or outflow. DEN !!!!! I start lookin reguardless of surface temps. Prolly hot;) but not nessessary as much as stable. Headed down to Hugo in Okieland Friday. Itsa been in the upper 90's :eek::eek:over a week & gittin hotter. Yep!!!! Thanks for sharing the video link Chatt. This explains a lot. I generally do most of my crappie fishing through the ice and early Spring. However, the last 3 years on the 4th of July weekend, I've gotten my a$$ handed to me by my wife's uncle. I think I had just as many bites as him and I was so determined to set the hook, I'd tried to set the hook as I felt the initial bite. I found it to be frustrating as my wife's uncle just let his pole sit, get a bite, drink a beer, casually walk to pull the fish in. I'm not exaggerating but he outfished me at least 5-1. This is good timing as I'll be heading out tomorrow morning for my annual whooping at Big Hill. Thanks again.
