I must be a conservationist....I've never managed a limit of 20...
Remember "I" before "E," except in Budweiser

First of all, I don't want to pick a fight with anybody, but Kansas does have standardized length and possession limit statewide. It's 50.
20/10" wouldn't be beneficial everywhere, which is why it is not the standardized limit.
Maybe there are other lakes out there that would benefit from stricter limits that don't currently have them in place, but those limits wouldn't be appropriate everywhere.
This comes from the perspective of a person who fishes a lot of small waters, usually 400 acres or less, with low fishing pressure compared to the places many of you probably fish. My favorite spots are filled with boatloads of little crappie, and if the local guy wants to clean 50 9" males he pulls off the bank, why not let him. According to the bios, he's helping to balance the fish population in the lake.
Anyway, I've bit on this argument before and probably made enemies by giving my opinion. So I'll just say that I can't speak for what limits would benefit the places you fish, but I really don't believe a more restrictive length/creel limit would help any of the places I fish.
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
Guess I'll chime in also. We're catching a few walleye Tue. morn. and out of nowhere we are joined by 5 Neb. boats. With a little help from Bushnell and whatever brand of binocs these idiots are now catching fish. 29 trucks in the lot and 3 Kansans. Whoever sees 3 boats in the lot mid-week must have been there during a tornado! The Kansas Walleye Ass. was the tourn. @ Glen a week ago and there are no out of state members currently on the standings board from top to bottom so this wasn't any contributing factor to the influx of "Big money out of staters." Yes there are some considerate neighbors which visit our lakes and I have no problem with them, however, to the five of you this morning, next time it will be a 3oz. bottom bouncer headed your direction when you use your Bushnell fishfinder! Wilson was great Memorial weekend, fishing was tough but didn't see any out of state tags. Me and Toto almost felt as if we were in Kansas again!
Plenty of room for fishing now. Parking is still limited but it is not packed. Lots of lake water to fish in Glen Elder. stand on the road and throw your line in. My lodge depends on the out of state and in state people. Don't knock the Nebraska folks A lot of them have summer homes in the area.
Sweetheart, I wish nothing but the best for your lodge as I think you folks are great people along with the entire Glen area. Just a personal observation that happened on the water that should not happen if people were ethical and respectful. We have fished the lake for many years and it is disheartening to witness the increase of length limit violations and disregard to fellow anglers. The Glen will always be a favorite destination as long as Kansans and out of state anglers can be good stewards of the resource we have. Best wishes!
I found out yesterday what you were talking about. Those fishermen were from Grand Island. There were several bus loads that came down to fish. Anyone who was on the lake at the time saw what kind poor sportsmanship the group were. The new wildlife and parks management have been doing a much better job of cracking down on violaters on and off the lake.
Sweetheart, I thought you were on vacation. I sent a message earlier in the week and I never got a reply. Did you get my message?
I am sorry I thought I sent you a reply. We have openings this month except June 13 through 15. Three boat ramps are open: Granite Creek, Walnut Creek, and Schoen Cove. For more information please call us 785-738-7707 or 785-781-7707. Even though the lake is very high they are still catching fish.
