Default Crazy Me Fishing in the Sleet, Rain and Wind, North KY Lake

I got to fish about two hours this morning before the wind, SLEET (yes I said sleet) and rain set in. Caught 9 crappie on drop that went from 10 to 23 feet. Caught the fish at 15 and 16 ft deep in 14 t0 17 FOW. Think I could have caught several if I could have fished for a while longer. THe fish were really biting hard. Missed three that really hit hard. Finally just gave up and went home with a steady rain falling. The fish were a mixture of blacks and whites. All the white crappie were males that had started to put on their spawning time color of black. Didn't catch a single female white, but probably would have if I'd gotten to fish longer. The Blacks were all females. All the fish measured from 13" to 15", with the two largest 15 inches being Blacks. Caught the fish spiderrigging with jigs tipped with minnows. Marked a lot...and I mean a lot...of suspended fish 14-18 ft deep in 23-23 FOW. If the water quits falling Sunday or Monday, look out next week. It should really get right. Water temp where I was fishing 56 degrees.
