    Default Humminbird SI transducer placement

Hey guys I was wondering where I should place my transducer on my transom I don't have a jackplate. The paper that came with the unit shows an x through the pic of it mounted on the transom with a motor with no jackplate. Will it shoot across the motor if the motor isn't set back off the transom? Trying to eliminate drilling a bunch of hole trying to find the right placement. It is being mounted on a 2002 triton tr 186.

It will not shoot through the motor. If motor is in way just trim it up some. Mine is mounted on a step up under boat clearing motor.

Yep just mount it on the bottom of the transom and trim up. Those plastic mounting plates are nice too. You only have to put two holes in your boat and you can make all the adjustments you want and trust me, you will have to make several before you get it just right.
