Interesting! I've not heard of anything on this. I will have to do some snooping and see what I can find out.

The article from the link above touches on a very small portion of the Kansas Walleye Initiative. The Kansas Walleye Initiative is on the schedule at the KDWPT Commission meeting in Topeka on March 24, 2016 where all facets of the Initiative will be presented by KDWPT Fisheries Division Chief Doug Nygren. An agenda to the meeting can be found at http://ksoutdoors.com/content/downlo...ch+24-2016.pdf and those interested in walleye management in Kansas are welcome to attend.

KDWPT Fisheries, Hatcheries, and Research Biologists have been researching past, present, and possible future management strategies in order to provide the most productive and efficient operations and programs in dealing with Kansas Percid populations. All facets of the management of Percids (walleye, sauger, and saugeye) are being examined and reexamined. A few of these facets include egg collection/production programs, hatchery fish production strategies, stocking protocols, fish sampling methods, Kansas Percid biology, human dimensions, future research needs, and, as mentioned in the linked article, harvest regulations.

    dkv,

Unless something changes, I won't be able to attend this meeting as I have a full schedule working the walleye spawn and collecting eggs through the first week or so of April.
