Went for a drive today. Flint Hills was at one point probably 90% under water. I'd venture to be Redmond was one of the largest lakes in the state and continues to be if not the largest. For you duck hunters it isn't looking good. They were pumping the marshes full and had the boards in before the rain event. Lots of dikes got eroded and they are not allowed to plant anything so anything that comes back will have to be natural. Considering you can't even see the tops of most of the levees right now it isn't looking good. Hard to get around right now because so many roads are closed. Did see lots of small fry swimming in the road ditches. Don't know whether it was shad or what.
Drifter asked about the Eagle creek boat ramp. Take the curve to the right and go 2 miles and the ramp is right there...
Or take this road about 1.5 miles the trees you see way in the background is Eagle Creek
Parking lot at Hammerton Marsh
