A few years back, I was on a lake where gas engines aren't allowed. While putting the boat on the trailer, I was being lazy and didn't use the rear trolling motor to race the boat towards the trailer. At the last second, I (planned) on yanking up on the front trolling motor to avoid it hitting the trailer. Guess what broke??.....

The aluminum shaft on the MotorGuide hit the back of the trailer and bent. I won't do that again. I like metal cables now. :-)
