My wife and I fished Glen Elder last Sunday thru Tuesday and Milford Wednesday and Thursday. We targeted whites, wipers, and walleyes and found the bit extremely tough for anything other than drum and catfish. Out of 3 days we did have one decent day putting about 30 very nice fatty Glen Elder whites in the boat. The other 2 days were very tough with just a few whites and some drum and catfish. The last day we did talk to a couple guys that put 5 nice walleyes in the boat trolling super shallow with cranks on the west side of the causeway. I will have to remember this for another day as I have never even fished on the west side of the causeway. We stayed in one of the state park cabins which was very nice and besides brutally tough fishing we still love it there and had a blast. Wednesday morning we drove to Milford and checked into a cabin in the state park there and went out and immediately proceeded to catching the snot out of the fish from noon til we got run off the lake by impending rain that evening. The bite was on fire in a big way. Caught so many wipers the next 2 days we did not even keep count. Also caught 12 surprise walleyes as we figured the fishing would be tough for them. 5 of them over the 18 inch limit (wife caught a 23 inch and I caught one at 22 inch) and the rest right at 17 to 17 and 1/2 inch. The shorts will most likely be keepers by the end of the growing season coming up soon. Caught and released my personal best wiper at 28 inches which was an absolute pig but forgot the scale and was not able to get a weight on it. All fish except a handful of the whites and drum at Glen Elder (caught on slabs) were caught on a slipsinker, swivel, leader, and a hook baited with a live shad...walleyes included. The south island was the hot spot with all fish coming between 22 and 35 ft of water. What an awesome wiper lake! Sorry about the 1 continuous paragraph but my computer would not let me start a new one lol! I will put up some pics in the next post under this.

If you ever hit Milford for the wipers again make sure you look for some top water action in the evening as the sun is going down off some of the points. It can be awesome. Also in about another month when the seagulls show up in numbers watch for them busting the top and cast anything - you'll catch a bunch of whites and wipers.

Glad you caught some fish!! Also glad I wasn't the only one having a tough time catching fish at the Glen!

Great pictures. I have also had some challenges at Glen but have been doing ok on Milford. Hopefully as it cools down we can get back on them. That Wiper is a hoss.
