    Default Milford 8-4-14

Flew to Tennessee to work in our Christmas Tree patch over the long weekend for us. But got back in time to hit Milford late afternoon/night on Monday. Extremely calm water as the sun set, which makes it really nice. Went for crappie but for the second time in a row...zero. Caught plenty of whites, catfish, smallies, and drum, though to keep it interesting. Stayed til about 1130pm. Brad Name: Milford Sunset.jpg

fishlessDan: Sounds like you have them figured out, previous post said to try feathered jigs, do you have a preference to color and weight.

Weight wise whatever it takes to get them verticle for the depth, but I like to trim them down so total length of the jig is 2in an be sure to taper the tail when trimming. Since I pretty much just fish for crappie, and only feel the need for feathers when its real hot out, I trim them all before I put them in the box. Color is dictated by water clarity. Feather may not work for all, they are just my confidence bait in the heat of summer. Alot of dang fine fishers swear by minners and do well using them this time of year, but Ill stick with feathers. Hope that gives ya another option!

Good luck an keep the jigs moving slow and as tight to stucture or cover as possible.
