Clinton smallmouth

has there been massive stockings in the last few years? I've Never caught a smallie at Clinton and now I catch 6 in 3hrs of fishing with them varying in size from 8-17inches? Kinda shocked to say the least, anyone else been catching them?

I caught 3 on Friday while crappie fishing. All were around 12 inches.

Couple guys I know have caught 3 over 3 pounds, a 4, and a 4 1/2 in the last couple weeks out there. I believe they stocked some brood fish (up to 5lbs from what I read) from Milford and Melvern to try to get a population established.

2 years ago caught one that went 19", the stocking of some brood stock would explain that fish. Catch a bunch in the fall, jerkbaits on windblown points can produce a lot of fish, but nothing close to that 19" fish. Hope they continue maintaining the smallmouth population, the largemouth fishing is poor.......even worse now that you can't get to the river. Maybe they could even use some of the money spent on "put & take" species into building a viable largemouth population?????
