Water temp was 38 deg. on Tuesday, still a little cold but the males could be cruising the dam...probably worth a try.
Well I've been ancy sitting at home with a the nice weather the last couple days,so maybe I'll try to get out this weekend.I will probably head to Cheney,Marion or El Dorado.Anybody else going to any of these three lakes?
When Cheney was at its prime a few years ago I saw several 8lb+ fish brought in the taxidermy shop. The vast majority of them were caught during Spring Break week. So you are getting to the right time on the calendar, just gotta get the water temps right. One thing I learned back then, and this is going to sound counter-intuitive, speed up your retreive. We literaly would rip a 1/4-3/8oz jig with a mister twister as fast as we could reel it....seemed odd...until it got stopped cold and you had a big 'eye on the end of the line. This was at night in water <3ft. You are looking for a reaction bite, not a feeding bite at night. Something to try.
Threw jigs on the Clinton Lake dam after work yesterday... no takers. Was windy but I had waders on and waded out 10 ft from shore so I could get a little better distance. Water still too cold I think.
Wasat Clinton today, surface temp was 42.
Trying to decide if I want to go in the morning or not.
Cast on the damn at HD till 8pm with the little girl. No fish, no bites. Lot of folk showing up at dark.
