So... a buddy and I went to Hillsdale on Friday night, thinking we would give the spawning Walleye's a try. Everything we read pointed to an early bite... warm windy day. Water temps 40+. Ha! That Cold-Front had other ideas. It pushed thru around 9pm and took that wind and drove it straight into us at the dam. Casting into it was a joke. I would have had better luck getting waders and walking my bait out 30', then trudging back to reel it in. Oh well. We'll try another day. Anyways onto my question about technique. I throw (and typically lose) my usual arsenal of rattle traps, stick baits and curly tail jigs. Usually with minimal success. For Bass fishing I really like to use a soft jerkbait, texas rigged (weightless). aka French Fry worm. aka Stik-O worm. Has anybody tried this method for the 'eyes? It would keep the bait in the zone longer. Being texas rigged it would reduce the number of hangups in the rocks. Just wondering. Let me know what ya think. Zac
