Hope so, been a few years since had good ice to go. I really enjoy it, bought a ice flasher and it is a blast! It is like playing a video game, I was jerking it away from them anticipating the bite.

The possible negatives far out weigh the positives for me

It definitely can be dangerous, if you use common sense and go with a buddy. I always wait for awhile, rule of thumb is take the day high and the night low and add them together, divide by 2, if it is below 32 the ice is getting thicker, above 32 you are looking ice. I like 6" of good ice and really like to see others on the ice before Ingo fishing.

Use to do lots of ice fishing as it was the only choice you had 6 months out of the year if you wanted to fish.

Actually lots of fun sitting out there watching each other freeze

Fired my auger up the other night and am ready. I absolutely love it. Probably my favorite way to fish.
