    Default Wolf Creek

The weather is looking pretty good for tomorrow. I think I might try Wolf Creek for some smallie action.

We got on some whites and wipers for a minute in the discharge before we went and chased smallmouths around. Only caught 1 more white after we left the discharge and saw no birds diving all day.

I don't know that I have ever seen birds diving there. We catch alot of whites. Don't just look in the discharge. They are around for a ways around the warm water. Look for the baitfish on sonar then get ready. Lots of channels to be caught as well. There is a spot in the discharge I know we could pull up right now and catch channel cat until you get tired of it or run out of bait. Uusally if your fishing worms the first fish of the day in the catfish hole is a giant small mouth. For whatever reason its happened like that the last few times I have fished it this time of year. Pay attention to wind direction as well. It will pust warm water with it. One of the best white bass days I ever had was with an east wind pushing warm water back towards the boat ramp. I don't even want to think about how many we caught that day.

Seems like every time I'm out there the gulls are diving like crazy somewhere, usually in the outlet or towards the north end by the timber, the whites and wipers are always close by. I heard the whites were going pretty good by the north end Saturday.

We stayed on the rocks Saturday and ended up with 25 smallies and a couple of largemouths. Not the normal numbers but the size was better than usual. Black tube jigs seemed to be working the best. We did see a couple of other boats catching some. One was trolling and the other was vertical jigging a crawdad bait. It was a beautiful day to be on the water.
