    Default Milford Wiper Bite

Does anyone know if the evening top water Wiper bite is on at Milford yet.

    Is it too early?

There is a bite in the morning and evening but hasn't been that great. I would wait another month or so myself if you are traveling.

Went out last evening to a few area's that I normally have good luck with and was unsuccesfull one of the spots it was the first time this summer that I didn't pull fish off of it. Donno what the deal is only thing I could think of is the higher water has moved them to other places. Others may be doing better but from were I was at it didn't look like it. Noticed people fishing the humps which I havent tried yet.

Headed there Monday and Tuesday, just wondering which humps are you referring to? The large north and south humps?

The last time out we caught wipers. The wiper bite has been a frenzy at times but you do have to hunt them up. Will admit been catching them in traditionally not there usual areas. South island has been producing if you can do that type fishing.....I can't. I like to keep moving. I would think this weekend would be great for wipers. Water temp coming up quick.
