Went down to Cape San Blas Florida the last week for some sun and surf. The sun was a no show for 5 out of the 7 days we were there ( we did bring back some rain and cool weather) and I did get to go out for some fishing with a guide but due to strong winds we had to stay in the Panama city bay and could only troll for spanish mackeral. Three of us ended up with 22 to be filleted and even though they're not the favorite salt water fish to eat, they grilled up really well. We trolled with 4 poles w/ 4oz. egg sinkers and an 8ft. leader with a silver spoon. We didn't get the big fight you expect when you saltwater fish so that was disappointing and the size of the mackeral were just average. The captain told us we could cancel due to the high winds and him not being able to take us to big fish (3 others already had) but we'd come too far to back out.....still enjoyable and I hopefully picked up a few things from the pros. Now I'm ready for some good 'ol crappie fishing and maybe a walleye or two.Name: 20130724_073536[1].jpg
