Hey guys,

I wanted to share something I found that may (or may not) be helpful. There is a free app for Android and iPhone that KDWPT put out. It lets you mark spot via GPS and a map. My thought is to use it where I have had the best luck so you can go back there later. I have a horrible short-term memory, so having something like this will probably help me a lot. I'm still playing with it, so not sure about what all it can do, but it looks like it has information for just about every lake and park in Kansas. I downloaded a map of El Dorado, and hope to mark a few spots this weekend. It will let you cache maps so that you can still mark spots, even without cell service. Spots can be marked with some text and either a built in icon, or you can snap a picture with your phone. It also has really quick access to the KDWPT website inside the app. So far, I'm a fan, if you can't tell...

I have an iPhone, so I know that one is called "KS Wildlife, Parks & Tourism Guide" in the app store (requires iOS 5.1 or later). I'm sure the Android app is going to be titled something very close. They say you can stop at the park entrance and scan the code on their window to get it too, but I couldn't get that to work...

Just thought I'd throw this out there for my Kansas peeps...
