Thanksgiving wore off yet? Cold been keeping you home? Sorry bout your luck. Boy I sure like cold water fishing, fish are on the move, pregnant, building for their once a year. Man, I'm glad I'm not all fish. Seems every late fall I tell myself what a great fishing time this was, then I start trying to rank them. You know, those really good years, and by the way, the older you get, the more recent your memory becomes, so the ranking can continue for a while. I started ranking them, along with this year and just came to a simple conclusion. For size and numbers, top 8. Now, this is where it gets good, throw in the taste factor, well that bumps it up to a 5. Big ole fat, yellow tinged, lipid busting and insulin dependent crappies, whew, fire up some grease. I'm enjoying this year, downward side of the cycle with some real toads. But it isn't 2009, them 18"+ are few, almost nonexistent. But plenty of 14"-17" crappie, at least for me.

Walleyes have picked, turned off, then on, then off. WEIRD!!! I've fished Wilson some this week, and honestly, my wrists hurt. Stripers have been cheap, they're everywhere. They just pull to long, and even more often. Been pitching for them some with the big rod, and they still wear you out after a while. I love low lakes with concentrated fish, winner every time.
