    Default Blue Cats at Melvern

Thinking about trying the blue cats at Melvern this weekend. Have any of you been fishing for them and having any success?

I haven't made it up there but 2 or 3 weeks ago a fisherman caught at least one fish that weighed in at 53. Was told that it was up by Turkey Creek in 30-35 ft of water. Have read reports (on other boards) of people catching a few in the flats up by sundance. Nothing over 20 lbs....
Sacred Heart of Mary, pray for us now, and at the hour of our death. AMEN

Thanks for the info. We were out there this weekend and did get a little fishing in between the rain showers and horrendous wind gusts. We managed to pick up a couple small blues drifting in the turkey creek arm but nothing to write home about. Finally gave up on that and chased the walleye around. We had about the same luck there, caught a couple white bass, drum and a dang small mouth but no walleye.
Went out this morning in the rain/dripping fog and picked up several nice crappie on brush in 22 feet of water. Tried the brush piles up shallower but they just were not there this morning.

We certainly need all the rain we can get but I just dont need to fish that bad! I am perfectly fine watching it rain from inside the camper!
