    Default Chad Richardson Trip

Myself and another member on here Ranger6 went on a guided trip Tuesday here on Milford lake. Was interested in learning how to catch big wipers and walleye. Caught a few walleye with ranger6 getting 2 keepers. Caught some nice wipers during the day and several small whites and wipers. Learned about lead lining and trolling. It was a fun day and the weather was perfect. We actually booked it through Chad but fished with Ben another guide, learned what I wanted to learn and should really pay off when it gets into the dog days of summer here and deep trolling is a must.

Very nice...I need to do a trip like this to learn some other methods and tactics for big hybrids. Haven't trolled much...especially any really deep stuff. I've historically used spoons for deep fish but am sure trolling would be helpful for scattered fish.

Sounds like a good trip....one of these days I'm going to have to do a trip like that for walleyes. The only time I seem to be able to catch them is one in a while during the crappie spawn I will hook into one.

I saw you guys there. I had the gold-n-black Champion and my sons lab with me yesterday. I think they need to stock more wipers. Rofl I can hardly type today cause my hands/fingers still hurt from all those wipers and catfish. Pounded some blues on the chunk rock all suited up for the spawn. I did have one smallie I wish was prespawn, could've been a contender possibly. Once I got away from the wipers the wallys were oh so much easier. The water's not the best I've seen, I hope time does it well Far better fishing in the outlet for some species Thumbs Up

Hiring a guide can save you lots of time and money learning the how-to's about catching certain species of fish. Looks like you guys got in 'em too. Congrats.

That was exactly the plan for me. I burn lots of fuel chasing things and I figured what I really needed to do was learn to fish smarter using different techiques. One thing I wanted to learn but did not get a chance to do was learn how to use "bouncers" with crawlers.....I hear it is deadly on walleye. I am getting rigged out with lead line trolling gear and braid using snap weights to get it in the zone i want. We did not do anything fancy just solid fishing experience info. I asked questions all day....I would recommend these guys, very friendly and shared lots of info.

Were you guys using deep diving crank baits or some type of bucktail jigs? I have had luck with using down deep rattling thin fins and rattle traps. When trolling with leadcore and snap weights would you find that the lines off the back of the boat would track differently?

The lure's tracking was fine. We tuned them prior to putting them in the water to fish and after each catch.
