Eliminating exemption for those over 65 - still alive
Middle of last week it appeared the elimination of the exemption for those over 65 was a dead deal.
February 24 was the last day for non-exempt bills to be out of the first chamber or they died.
S314 did not make it out of the senate but at the last minute, the bill was moved in and out of a blessed committe and gained exempt status.
So the bill is still alive and hearings are scheduled for later this week.

Pay attention and do not vote for the officials that vote yes on this bill. They obviously do not care about senior citizens.

SB 314 now has been amended to push the exemption age to 75. If you do not like this as I don't contact your state legislatures and inform them of your position. You can find who the are at Kslegislature.org.

You know my main beef with Kansas it is so tax happy and pay fees for everything state I have ever lived in. We have lived all over being military and now retired military. Personal Property taxation I have never understood and now this.....they need to manage the money they have instead of hitting senior sportsman. I could use my 30% VA rating or my Native Blood degree to get a fishing and hunting license but I have always felt we all should do our part....just irritating. I keep telling my wife I want to move back to Alaska but you know how that goes....I may have to start filling out the paperwork before that disappears too.
Sorry for the rant.....
