    Default Structure scan Xducer mount question

    According to the manual that comes with the unit,it shows you can mount the ducer to a jackplate.I was wondering if anyone knows of any problems with mounting it there?I like the idea of having it mounted up higher than a regular ducer,but will it still read the bottom properly?

    I guess as long as it's line of sight is clear down and to the sides and stays in the water, should work..

    I put mine right under the jackplate that way I can knock it off if the wind is blowing and I run into a stump or what have you

    I placed it on the outside & inside of the plate just to see what it looked like and the main obstruction that I'm not sure would matter was it being right behind the motor?@birddog,so yours seems to work fine right below the plate?

    should be " can't " right?

    @mandingo
    make sure it can see side to side and directly beneath where ever you mount it.

    Lol, I read that 3 times thinkin I was reading something wrong?!
    After watching this video (YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. kinda blew the theory of mounting it higher than the skimmer.I think I'll still try it on the plate just because Lowrance says it'll work,if worse comes to worst I can just move it.I'll report back after I try it out this weekend barring any Gail force winds like we've been having the past 2 !
    Thanks for the help guys
