I am considering upgrading my LCX 15 Mt to an HDS 8 with structure scan and have a few questions to get answered before I make my final decision. Hopefully, someone may be able to help me out.

1. I have waypoints stored on the LCX 15 that I need to transfer. Is it as easy as saving them to a SD card and transferring them to the HDS 8?
2. I may decide to move the LCX 15 to the bow. Can both of these units be connected together via the ethernet and share waypoints?
3. The installation manual on the HD8 states that the power cable has red, black, blue, and yellow wires. The blue is not used and should be clipped. The yellow is for accessory wake up. Does the yellow wire need to be connected to anything or just clipped if just using the HDS 8 unit by itself with structure scan?
4. The installation manual for the structure scan module shows that a switch needs to be installed to the console. I assume this is to turn on the LSS-1 unit while it is being used and then to turn it off while not in use to not drain the battery? Could I wire this so that my main power switch would control the LSS-1 power?
5. Does the LCX 15 Mt use the same sonar transducer as the HDS 8?

I have been trying find the answers to these questions in the manuals but have not been able to find the answers (They are probably there, I just don't understand the information).

I am in the process of determining if I can do the install myself or if I need to take it to a dealer.
