Default Saddle up for the Pain Train

I went Striper fishing at Wilson yesterday. They sure seem to be everywhere, and yesterday was no exception :D Punishment bash for 4hrs of non-stop action. Constant doubles throwing bucks, spoons, and swimbaits. :p Most of our fish were on the bank or shallower than 10' If you want to know how it feels, go to the closest railroad tracks and snag yourself a passing train Plenty of action on both stripers and donkey whites, some of the whites were pushing 4# I'm sore from my shoulders to my fingertips. The biggest secret is using your tm, not your big motor They are skittish, and the water's very clear. When you would hook one you could see the strike or flash or the gills, thats AWESOME. Just be stealthyThumbs Up

Glad you got into the stripers- they are fun! I am glad to see the hybrids in Clinton, they are one of the best fighting fish in fresh water. I grew up on the East Coast, so I have a fair bit of experience fishing for them in the salt. If you think they are tough - try bluefish!

Sounds like you had alot of fun with those stripers. I caught one the other day on a crappie jig using a 10' crappie rod with 6 lb test that weighed 10 lb 5 oz. That was alot of fun too.Thumbs Up Congrats on a great day of fishing.

It's a good time, I've talked with some other guys who have chased them all day. We found them pushing bait into a pocket cove on a channel bend. We didn't get anything over 44#, which by the way I have that pic on my phone cause I was there for the unofficial weigh-in, but we had plenty of schoolers. We just did it right with the tm. If you get a chance to try it some time it's better than Texoma IMHO. Honestly, I thought the whiteys were something else, 19" whites look like wipers and ride you pretty hard themselves.

Ron, give Milford a shot for wipers. There were guys having 100 fish days there earlier, some up to 10-12lbs. Some were also getting them BIG blues when they were wiper fishing.

Big Daddy, I haven't tried the carrots yet, man them babies GLOW. If you come for the stripers bring a can of spinach and some waterproof gloves. Digging the treble from the spoons sure got my hands wet and cold and the bucks were DEEP into their throats.
