Default Have had trouble with purple showing as purple and now..

Of course now I can't get chart to show up right; it's always something, LOL! I am having trouble with the chart showing as too yellow? Trying to learn how to use a studio as I now have this tiny studio for taking pics of jigs and flies.

Anyone have good knowledge on using a small studio with lighting and can help?

Oh and that is also my new custom green on the head. Just got some new green feathers I have not tied yet that I think will be better on and jig with green feathers, pictures later on that.

    Skip,

What was your camera's white balance (WB) setting when the photo was shot? Is the chenille to appear purple or blue? It appears blue on my monitor.

I'm trying to learn to take better photos and have adjusted my camera's white balance settings for better outdoor shots. It eliminates some of the need to adjust brightness and the like with a photo editor.

I'd try shooting a series of photos of this same jig through each of the WB settings. See if that doesn't produce a desirable result and note the setting. You can omit the fluorescent setting when shooting under incandescent light.

I did mix my own paint on this one. I do have several other greens that come from a company besides Pro Tec though. The chenille is large cactus chenille. I have some other new colors I am going to show soon that are Holographic.

Pup, this one the chenille on my computer and on the camera shows purple better than I have ever been able to do and it's because of the little studio. I tried everything before this little studio to get purple to come out like it is and just couldn't very well. Your computer may be color challenged as I think it looks purple just like it really is in this case, but my tail now looks a bit more yellow than it is really.

    Thanks guys,

I can see some purple by setting my monitor to an 800 X 600 resolution.

If white balance won't work for you, then I'd try working on the image's yellow/chartreuse hues with a good photo editor.

How about a shot of your studio set up, curious on what a small studio might look like set up for jig picture taking

It is only 8"x8"x8" and could be a little larger.
