    Default 1st Jigs

My girl and I went to IHOP in the Boardwalk here for dinner tonight so I decided to stop in BPS and check out the jig tying kits... ended up getting one so I gave it a try after Paw paw Gene stopped over today and gave me a quick run down on the "how to's". Here are the 1st two I have ever tied... not as good looking as the ones ya'll are making but i'm pretty pleased. Let me hear the comments good and bad.
Sorry for the clarity issues, my camera cell isn't that good at close ups.

well I have to say those look like what my 50th or 60th try looked like so being your 1st and 2nd you are ahead of schedule nice job!! Only thing i might do different is shorten the body a little maybe have it end where the hook starts.

Those look great, I wish my first to looked that good, but I do agree with Jigginjoe about the bodies. Keep it up doing a fine job.

Look pretty good for a first jig. On your pics just back away a little more and add a little light or use a flash and they should come out more clear.

Also agree with stopping the body about where the point of the hook is or at the barb at most. Right in between there is good.

Good start Greg. I wish I would of had more time to spend with you. Thanks for showing me your fishing spot, that was neat. By the time you get through that pile of painted hook I saw yesterday, I think you'll have the basics down pat. Remember, keep your first one's for putting on the wall or somewhere. That way you can look back and see where you've been. Also when you tie one you don't like, a sharp knife or razor can be use to cut everything off the hook and start again. Good luck.
