I got out on the water late yesterday afternoon. Hit a small impoundment - maybe 6 acres - max depth, 7-8'.
Had one of my ties on a rod - threw it in, at a small chunk of wood peeping from the water, maybe 20-30' from the landing. Caught 3 crappie right off the bat. After that it was a fish here-a fish there. Jig was 1/32 oz, blue head, white chenille, light blue krystal flash. Moved about the puddle, picking up a fish here, a fish there. Finally lost it in a brush pile. Sadly, this jig was a one-of I had tied.....
Switched to chartreuse head, purple ice chenille, and chartreuse kraft hair, also in 1/32 oz. This to, produced fish.
Ended up with 10 crappie, enough for supper tonight, easily released that many more. No pics, no camera with. A pleasant time on the water, and the crappies vote of approval was priceless.
A while back, some here on the forums mentioned tying 5-6 of a given pattern - lest you loose one - I endorse that statement. From now on, no more one of's!!!

Good job Uncle!!
"Mister, I love the way you wear that hat."
"You don't know nothin'."
Good report UG - pics would have been nice.
For new patterns I tie three. One to use, one to lose, and one for me to tie again.

Sadly - no camera with me. I doubt I have a pic of the blue jig, might have one of the kraft hair. Will do some looking....

The left jig is the partner to the jig I lost - Imagine one w/ a dk blue head, and light blue krystal flash.....
The right jig - is the one I used after the loss of the blue....

Ain't noth'in like bank bash'Im Grump You Go!
I reluctantly started tying 4 of each now at least. Gonna have a lot more than I can carry with my new materials. Gonna look like a jig salesman when i go out fishing and others see the boxes of jigs and all the varieties I carry with me.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
