Pianting eyes on Powder paint???

Anybody ever paint on top of powder painted jigs? Thinking about adding some eyes to my jigs without using the stickon ones.

There are several things you can do. Pack a small straw with powder paint, and lightly touch a warm to mid warm jig, with the straw. The powder will pull into the warm jig. Do the other eye, and then re-heat the entire jig till it glosses over. Another thing you can use is permanent markers, with a small stencil made out of a paper punch, or frisket film. I'm sure there are other things you can use. I'd be careful using lacquer over powder paint, as it will bleed on some colors.

Sure it's simple. You can use that out door acrylic from Walmart and then coat over them with Sally Henson's Hard as Nails. I use the flat end of drill bits and some drill bits are not flat so check the end to see.

If I put eyes on my jigs I use testors and then epoxy ovr the top.

I use the bottom of a wooden match dipped in paint then touch the jig to make the eyes. Nothing fancy won't win any prize and i still catch alot of crappie

do eyes make a difference in your catch ratio? I have a friend who is a guide and he just uses un painted heads

I believe eyes do make a difference, all the bait fish have eyes , So it does not hurt a little more work but worth it

I use a tooth pic for the small part of the eye and a drill bit for the bigger part i just use paint on mine seem to hold up pretty well...

I use the head of a number 6 finish nail for the big part and the point
for the little inside eye.
