Here's a pic of what I was trying to explain to you Doc this one is squirrel in chartreuse I cut the hair full length it gives Me something to hold onto while I ty then I trim the collar that simulates the gills of a small minnow.

cool concept. I have used red strung hackle base fibers (marabou-ish) to simulate gills.

I'm also working on some mylar bodied jigs... will post pics when I'm a little more satisfied with them
