    Default Relay For Life

Need some input for a good cause. I am a participant in the yearly "Relay For Life" Cancer Fundraiser in my hometown. My Dad has built a St. Croix fishing rod wrapped in pink, and I have made some pink jigs. The rod is being raffled at this time, and so far has generated over $300 for our group donation. I am going to make more jigs and package them individually for a $1 donation. Our big drive is in June and we camp out all day and night in the park and sell chili, hot dogs, and ??????? All money raised goes to the Relay For Life Chapter in our area. Anyone have any ideas for improving this? Perhaps someone will want to join in their local area and do the same. All thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

That's great what you're are doing. The Relay is such a fun time.I've participated in a few myself,we had a team.We did car washes and bake sales and raffles to raise money.Mom and Dad are both survivors.

This is the first time we have been involved. Congrats to Mom and Dad! That is fabulous! Last weekend we held a rummage sale and made over $3000 towards our goal of $6000. It is very fun and well received by our community. Hopefully one more person will read this and want to help out! Our "PARK" day has a baseball theme. Everyone camping will decorate their campsite with baseball related items. We have pennants, posters, bats, autographed balls, vintage ball gloves, and lots of cool stuff to be auctioned that evening.

That's coool. Could I get in on the raffle for the rod and make a jig donation as well? For a cause like that I'd love to contribute something. Nice looking rod and jigs.

Grubster, she is in! Hope I can send it to you! We are advertising the rod at work to drum up some donations. Lots of the guys are buying tickets in hopes of winning it, only to have the eyes cut off and rewrapped with a color other than pink! I tell them "REAL FISHERMEN USE PINK RODS!". Thanks for donating buddy!

I'd use it if I won it so I guess I'm a real fisherman. I hope you surpass your goals by plenty.
