Dying Squirrel Tails

I am wanting to dye some grey squirrel tails hot pink. I am sure I will be able to use rit dye, but do I need to bleach the tail first. Can use any help.:D

thats what it would look like if you didnt bleach the tails first and if you look at the pink on the right side and realy all of it was dyed with kool aid and after useing them for quit some time i cant seem to make them faid and no where near the mess of rit dye and the cost lol well
