    Default Hairy Hillbillies

I like them, simple but different and lots of flair top and bottom. What does everyone else think?

Size 6 2x Mustad fly hook
Shank wrapped with lead core for weight and bulk
Orange and yellow embroidery floss for body
    Silver plate lead eyes
Red saddle hackle palmered then pulled together and wrapped to form hair and goatee
    Pink UTC 140 thread
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

No fly rod unless it is a heavy one, these things are actually about 1/16-1/8 ounce. Under a float probably and casting into fast drop offs for the herky up and jerky action it should give.

I doubt I could cast it on any of my fly rods, not very far anyway without snapping it off and seeing if it can fly south.

I suppose I should tie some lighter ones for fly fishing though. I have never caught a descent fish on a fly rod yet and crappie or bass might be a good way to do it.

PRETTY, i thought it was for Salmon or Steelhead when i first saw it. Might work on crappie.

If you try to throw that on a fly rod get a HARD HAT. Been there done that, and IT DONT FEEL GOOD.

Will use it for steelhead and salmon too but it should catch crappie, if not in those colors then in other ones.
