Nice first jig. That's one of my favorite color combinations. Order some chenille for those bodies.. When you clip the hair for your tail put the blunt end of the fibers against the head and if it's to long for your taste clip the blunt ends a little at a time until you reach the length you want then tie it in. Your jigs will have better action.Compared to my first your's is much better.Keep it up,you are on the right track.

For your first jigs, I would say that you are a natural.
Your jigs look a lot like some very old crappie jigs that my Dad had in his tackle box. Kinda takes me back.

Great job!! The first flies I ever tied were scary compared to yours! For your first, I can't see a thing wrong! With all the tips from this site, you will be knockin' em out in no time. Just keep asking questions! - AF

Hey there is no doubt it will catch fish ..... Just keep tying and reading the threads on here and you can learn a lot. I still have all my first jigs that I tied and they all caught fish but most of them looked like crap. It just takes time and the ability to listen and learn, your first looks a lot better than mine!

They look good for your first try, like Slabologist said, they'll catch fish. Keep watching the sight and asking questions. Skip got me started out, now I cant stop tying and buying material. You know ya got it bad when you pass roadkill and wonder how long its been dead and wether or not you could clip a little hair!!
