    Question Griffin Spider Vise

Is $59.85, $64.03 with tax, a good price for one without a bobbin holder? Shipping is only $8.95 so I figured I could make a bobbin stand out of stainless wire instead of paying another $25 for one.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

Well I got an email back and it is actually $67.80 so maybe not the great deal I thought but still not bad. And no sales tax so....... Maybe I will go with the one I was gonna in the first place.

Can't beat a rotary vise with shipping for $48.90.

Not a bad price for the Spider vise, pretty close to what i paid for mine 6 years ago, and i have had no problems with mine.

And the only time i use the bobbin holder, is to hang finished jigs on to dry, works good.

My dad always told me '' you get what you pay for ''.

I have a Griffin Vise that I purchased about 20 years ago. One of the knobs stripped out on the vise and I called Griffin last Thursday, no questions asked, they just mailed me a new part that I received on Saturday. Said vise was guaranteed for life. Can't beat that. Pop
PS: Check their website, I think they have a vise on clearance, can't remember which one, but the price was cheap.

JW Trout offers Griffin Fly Tying Equipment at Discount Prices

That is the site. The price is $67.80 for the vise without the bobbin rest. The price on the site is wrong. He is having a hard time updating the site. Shipping is $8.95.

I think I am gonna get the Terra vise, some on principal and some on price. I try to buy US made when I can but when a company advertises the vise as the only American vise under $75 and I can only find one company that sells it for that and that is without all the equipment I have to shake my head.

Oh well, no one here has ever used the Terra rotary vise so some one has to try it out. :D
