Found a owl on the road this morning Can you tie with it's feathers, if yes what parts can you use.

The law might say you can't because of laws protecting owls in some areas. Even if found dead it is unlawful to have in your possession. So check your local and federal laws before picking up road kill.

I dont think its legal to have or use owl parts, so it was a pigeon you found:D.
Id guess youd just strip the feathers off the quill. I doubt it would give any better action that other commonly used materials.

USFWS says no because it is a bird of prey, and it is unlawful to hav ebird or part of bird in your posession, sorry

My dad had an owl die in his yard 2 years back, called the ODNR and they said he wasn't allowed to touch it... even on his own property! They came and bagged it up and took it with em, said to do blood test for parasites or disease.

Be sure to check it out with local game folks as it is not worth what can happen when some of these birds are so protected. Like you can not even pick up Eagle Feathers unless you are one of the few that have expressed authority to do so.

Just not worth the trouble you can get in.

I had a young barn owl for 2 weeks before i turned it in to a rehabiliator.
I will say owls eat alot!!! It always amazes me how they get hit by cars so easily.

I had a friend found a hawk on the road. While he was pickin it up just to get it out of the road, a game warden came by. Stopped, ask what he was doin. He told him "i am just gettin out of the road". Warden ticketed him for having a preditory bird in his posession. Cost him $2000 and almost lost his huntin rights! Rediculous!

Yeah it's crazy but the birds are very protected!!!!!!! Not worth the money.
