Pour mine. I do this because I like bigger hooks than most folks. I use a #1 in all of mine. I got one mold on e-bay, but you have to be careful not to get one that is warped. The others I got from Barlowstackle.com. I use the "do-it" molds.

Just wondering what most of you guys do when it comes to the jig 1/32 and 1/16 oz. Do you pour your own for making jigs or do you purchase jig heads for your jig making needs.
If you pour them what molds do you use and if you buy them where are some good places to purchase them from.

A FISH IN THE PAN IS WORTH TWO IN THE LAKE
I pour mine......... Also use the do--it mold.. Got mine at gander mountain.
I pour my own.I like a lot of different sizes and if I want a 1/80 on a #6 sickle I have a mold that I can do that. Most do-it molds have the ability to pour two or more size jig hooks.Barlow's,ebay are good places to start if looking for molds. If you only use a couple hundred jigs per year then I would suggest buying them.
Ive thought about getting into pouring, but the wife said about hobbies, "one in,one out "I enjoy my tying, fishing and a few othersAnd Grousefly is only an email away !!

Don't pour and don't want to as I sped enough time tying and since I do this for something to do when not fishing, well not giving up more fishing to pour.
Plus after all the darn money I spend on materials I don't need another thing to buy like molds and such. Would quit tying to sell before I start pouring.

I like pouring my own. That way I can decide size, color of hook etc. etc. Course it was an easy decision for me as I have always poured my own jigs even before I started to tie. It could be really time consuming for somebody that is tying large quantities for sale.
As I only tie for myself pouring what I need can usually done on a foul weather day and no fishing time is lost. Pouring for commercial purpose would also require a bottom pour production pot. Luckily I already had one of these for pouring my own bullets when I used to hunt.
As a caution the smaller the jig the more trouble I have with it. Don't know if its just me or what. Once I go below 1/32 oz the headaches seem to multiply. I would love to have one of those 10 at a time pro do-it precision molds but cannot bring myself to spending over a 100.00 on a mold. I will just poke along using the standard do-it @ 31.00
