    Default die your own bucktails?

what kind off die would you use and how well does it hold up. The ones I bought tend to fade out pretty quick.

I use Cushing's perfection dyes which works very well.I seen a post on cc where a member used koolaid and vinegar to dye bucktails and they looked really nice.I'll try it once my dyes run out.

i tryed the koolaid on some tree rat tails i had dryed from this past winter worked very well i very happy with it

wash in dish soap very well and then put in hot tap water for 30 min
    12 oz water
    2 packs kool aid
    4 oz white vinegar
bring to just below a boil and put tails in untill color you want and rince in cold water to lock it in and let dry
once dryed about 12 hours comb it and boom your done

    heres a color chart http://www.thepiper.com/fiberart/koo...rchart-max.jpg

btw the chart is good but i tryed pink lemon aid that isnt on it and did very a very nice pink

Another thing to remember when dyeing is you want to leave it in the dye a little longer and dye your materials a little darker than you want it because when it dries it will be a lighter color than when it was wet.

I still have about 15 full dyed bucktails that I bought when a shop was going out of business so it's gonna be a while before I worry about it.
