Default Mallards and Gadwalls and Squirrels...jigs that is

Tied up a couple tonight and wanted to get yall's thoughts. These are made from a drake gadwall, hen gadwall, drake mallard, hen mallard, and a squirrel tail. They're a little basic I guess, but I think they'll work.

    Lemme know what you think.

My favorites are 2&3 top,all the bottom. What size heads are these? If they are small enough these would murder the gills.

I need to get me some Gadwall feather now. Very nice. I like the top one in first set and middle one in the second set.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

    Thanks guys.

These are all tied on 1/16 jig heads, so these are intended for crappie. However, I have some 1/64 and 1/84 that I'm gonna do something with for gills. I only have 4 jig head colors to work with: black, white, chart, and silver. I try to keep the duck jigs as natural colored as I can with what I have to work with. I save the chart and white for the standard colorful, chenelle jigs.

Up until last night I been tying my whip finishes with my fingers. Worked okay, but I picked up a whip tool and tried it out. It made a world of difference. I tied one up and used the tool to tie the whip (second picture in the top group) and then tried to pull the squirrel hair out of it. It was like trying to pull Excalibur out of the stone. So I was pleased with how sturdy they actually are for how delicate they look.
