Here are some hats, tell me what kind of fur/hair they are.

I think you are right about the middle top one. I am not sure but the on on the right may be rabbit, it's kind of yellow looking.
The bottom right and the one that kind of looks like a wig for Tina Turner are still not totally sure of. However the Tina Turner one is my favorite for sure and I have not made jigs out of it yet. The bottom right one is probably going to have to be used as dubbing it's so thick.

top pic (left to right)... raccoon... chinchilla..... red squirrel
That bottom one with the fox.... it looks like bear but could be what they call that "faux hair"....
So you think chinchilla huh? May be I am unsure. The bottom is some kind of very thick fur with heave underfur too. Once someone thought maybe Australian/New Zeland Opossum and have had someone else say another animal and I have to see what that was maybe Beaver??
Another said the middle top one was Raccoon??
The middle one I was told Silver Fox?

might take some snippets of each and put in separate baggies... then next time in the shop do a comparison and see if you strike gold in finding out what they are.... I've wound up with some wild, zany materials from time to time and have yet to figure out what they are!
the bottom one with the red fox looks like mink and the top yellow one looks like bob cat or coyote maybe

Nope top pic the 1st one is possum the 2nd 1 is coon the 3rd one is fox possum is used more in ladies hats and coat cuffs they most any mid dollar fur product!
All of these are hats and the the first one is trowing you foo flatfish46 because it is the same hat in the 2nd pic, but the angle was just bad.
I do think you have nailed the middle top one. That yellow one I am just not sure of and have hat lots of guys tell me it was one thing or another, but I believe it is rabbit unless flatfish46 is right about the fox possum as I don't have a clue as to what a fox possum is.
I did ask a guy that is a wholesaler of all kind of hair and fur and he told me the one bottom right is Australian/New Zeland Opossum, but I have no way of knowing that. He said the hat in the second pic is Silver Fox, but I am not 100% sure of that.
I just don't go any place that I can compare these to.
Had these for a while and only tied one jig using the red fox on the bottom pic. Need to just go on a cut the hats like that Silver Fox and tie something.
