    Default Powder Paint

Has anyone ever used this company for powder paint?

    Columbia Coatings

This company's paint is industrial paint and its a lot cheaper than Pro-Tec. They seem to have a lots of color selections.

I know a lot of people use Pro-Tec and I have some of it also, I just didn't know if there is a compelling reason to use Pro-Tec.

Looks like they have some hot colors. I liked the mirror sample kit for 20 bucks. Seems like you get quit a few 2 oz samples

I guess the reason Pro-Tec is used the most is that it has a great reputation for quality. I started out using it, and although I have tried other powders, this seems to be the leader for my usage.

I use both, but if Pro-Tec has a color I prefer it because some of the other powders don't do as well in the fluid bed. They will still work, don't get me wrong, but not as fluffy. Pro-Tec seems to fluff better and easier.

Personally ease will over do cheap for me every time.

I've never tried it myself, having invested pretty heavy in the protec powder paint. At a fishing show earlier this month there was a booth selling Herbie's Magic Dust.Very impressive stuff in some colors that protec doesn't carry. It's sold in 1 oz. for $2.99 or 4oz. for $8.99. I bought 4 colors and I really like the results.Powder seems a little finer than protec. It may be worth checking out.

Have been using CC for years - top notch outfit and really good prices. They have some excellent products - really like the illusion stuff.

The paint mixes really well when you are trying to mix your own colors. Have mixed CC paint with CSI paint also.

LD - I like using the mirror black with the holgraphic glitter.

I like that you can buy a 1/4 pound reasonable and not have to go all the way to a pound for high dollar like Pro-Tec, but some of their paints are not near as fluffy as Pro-Tec and I just think some of their paints are heavier. I notice Pro-Tec has added colors that use to be only from CC, LOL!
