Default Putting Some Life into Plain, Old Jigheads

I like to have some fun with plain old collared leadheads...giving them some color, adding eyes, adding some glitter and shine...basically using some imagination and creativity  like we do when we "do up" our non-collared jigheads for tying purposes.

I also like to upgrade some of the old purchased, painted jig heads that have gotten nicked up just sitting around in my box. Sometimes the eyes aren't very good on those old jigs. So I'll take the pliers to some of the old painted round heads I've purchased to crack off the old paint and, in the process, make some pillheads to redo in colors that add to my usable arsenal.

    Ain't jiggin' some fun :D:D:D?

In the first pic, that jig is painted with SinfulColors black/glitter fingernail polish topped with SinfulColors opal/glitter topped with clear topcoat enamel paint.

In the second pic (probably the one you are referring to), that one is painted with SinfulColors midnight blue fnp, again topped with clear enamel.

In the third pic, while not very clear in my photo, it is black fnp topped with SinfulColors Pearl Harbor glitter polish, topped again with topcoat enamel paint.

Walgreens is where I find the SinfulColors fingernail polish and it's one of the more inexpensive brands they carry.

Thanks for the kind words. Hope this helps.

    nice work indeed.....

I think a man that paints his own jigs is the only man that feels comfortable enough to walk into the fingernail polish aisle and go through all the colors to find the one he needs!! And it's so darn fun to check out all the expressions of the girl's/ladies' faces!!! hahahahaaaa

    Default Hey AW,

You got that right. I won't lie...it bothered me some at first :o. But now I go right on in there...to me the fnp section is like having a Bass Pro Shop or a Cabelas built right into Walgreens or Walmart or where-ever. :D

It's one thing if a guy goes up and just finds a color and leaves, most everyone would think he's pickin it up for his other half. Can't imagine what they think when we go up and spend several minutes looking and digging around to see every color they have and stop to daydream about what they will look like in the water.

Yeah, I've gotten the looks too!

With those colors you get with the nail polish I might just give it a try.You may get looks now when your looking, but if you start painting a nail to get a really good look at the color I'd like to see what kind of looks you get then.At my age I really don't care who looks.By the way,the paint jobs are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
