There used to be an older gentleman that ALWAYS had a livewell full of crappies. Showed me his jigs and it was nothing more than the thickness of the lead in a wooden pencil....when fluffed out in water. Never seen such thin jigs. He sure caught em tho.

Marabou fluffs are the smaller/shorter plumes from turkeys. You can get some real good stuff from Tackle Craft in Ellsworth, WI.
Have seen it called chickabou (probably from chickens). Most fly tying catalogs carry the short plumes also.
