yes im stripping it off the quill.im going to keep expierementing with the thickness until i like it thanks for all the input

I am a believer in the "Less is more" philosophy of tying. Everyone starts somewhere. The important thing is that you started. Have fun.

There used to be an older gentleman that ALWAYS had a livewell full of crappies. Showed me his jigs and it was nothing more than the thickness of the lead in a wooden pencil....when fluffed out in water. Never seen such thin jigs. He sure caught em tho.

Marabou fluffs are the smaller/shorter plumes from turkeys. You can get some real good stuff from Tackle Craft in Ellsworth, WI.
Have seen it called chickabou (probably from chickens). Most fly tying catalogs carry the short plumes also.
